To help reduce the financing gap and augment\nthe response efforts, the World Bank approved <strong>Additional Financing (LDRM-AF, or AF)<\/strong> of about $25 million. This\nincludes funding for Structural Investments to Strengthen Flood Protection to\nsupport additional investments in Muang Xay and to implement similar activities\nin two additional provinces i.e. Luang Prabang (LPB) and Borikhamxay (BKX). The\nplanned investments in LPB comprise the construction of around 2 km of\nriverbank protection along the lower part of Nam Khan and the installation of\nfour water gates and associated pumps on urban tributaries\/creeks that join the\nMekong River and Nam Khan and potential riverside park. In Pakxan City,\nBorikhamxay<strong>,<\/strong> around 1.2 km of\nriverbank protection along the Mekong River in planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Services Provided:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This assignment covers the construction\nsupervision of the planned flood protection investments in LPB and BKX of total\nestimated value $12m ($7m in LPB and $5m in BKX).
