The Government of Bangladesh has embarked upon a project for Construction of a Dual Gauge railway link from Janalihut to Kaptai via CUET (in\/c IT village) with a view to open a new railway transport mode from Chittagong (Janalihut station) to CUET (Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology) including its nearby area and beyond it up to Kaptai if found feasible.<\/p>\n

  1. This project will reduce the travel time and will be helpful for passenger by providing a easy and smooth movement.<\/li>\n
  2. Considering the present situation (time consuming, excessive fare, local community people and CUET student\u2019s concern) this project is designed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Implementation of the proposed project, is targeting that Bangladesh Railway would be able to operate Commuter trains from 6 .00 am to 12.00 pm (mid-night) with the frequency of minimum 30 minutes which will help to reduce traffic congestion in Chittagong city.<\/p>\n

    Traffic study and forecast; Topographic and existing utility setup survey; Climatology. Geology and Geotechnical Consideration. Seismicity; Construction materials; Physical Planning; <\/strong>Design Criteria; Preliminary cost estimate; Techno-Economic Analysis:<\/p>\n

    Phase<\/u><\/strong>-II: <\/u><\/strong>Detailed Engineering Design and Preparation of Tender Documents:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Soil and sub-surface Investigation; Materials Investigation; Fixation of route alignment; Shifting of utilities; Determination of requirement of land; Detail Design; Project Implementation Plan; Final Cost Estimate; Preparation of Tender Documents.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
