APM Terminals has initiated the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the proposed Laldia Container Terminal (LCT) at Chattogram, Bangladesh, with the objective of ensuring compliance with national regulations and international good practice while supporting thedevelopment of a modern, efficient, and climate-resilient port facility. This inception reportoutlines the Consultant\u2019s approach, methodology, and program for the EIA, reflecting therequirements of the Department of Environment (DoE), the Scope of Work set out in Volume B, and international standards such as the IFC Performance Standards and World Bank Group EHS Guidelines. The Laldia Container Terminal is a flagship greenfield development that is expected to enhance the capacity and competitiveness of Bangladesh\u2019s trade infrastructure, and the EIA represents a critical step towards securing environmental clearance and ensuring that the project proceeds on a sustainable foundation.<\/p>\n
