Description of the Project:

The main objective of this project is to provide housing facilities for a total of 74880 persons (population density 700 per acre) with a view to giving some relief from the huge housing shortage in Dhaka city. RAJUK, the executing authority, decided to construct 75 nos. 25 storied building, including two basement floors, is an innovative and time-worthy idea in terms of design and construction methodology. Under the Jhilmil project, about 381.11 acres of land are acquired for development; for the high-rise apartment project, 49.50 acres of land are earmarked. Two-category apartment buildings will be constructed; 5760 flats sized 1,250 square feet and 6720 nos. flats sized 1050 square feet in two separate apartment blocks (A & B) with adequate infrastructure and service facilities. The project is being implemented, involving land acquisition, land development, and construction of buildings with associated infrastructure at a cost of Tk. 5734 crore.
