Description of the Project:

Rangamati, a hill district in southeastern Bangladesh, features rugged terrain, rich biodiversity, and diverse indigenous communities. Its complex geography and dispersed settlements make conventional water supply and sanitation systems ineffective. The consultancy proposes sustainable, context-specific solutions such as rainwater harvesting, gravity-fed systems, solar pumps, and filtration. Eco-friendly sanitation and climate-resilient designs will address challenges like water scarcity, landslides, and extreme weather, ensuring improved and adaptable service delivery.

 

Services Provided:

Designed and assessed integrated water supply and environmental infrastructure systems, including identification of potential water sources, water treatment facilities, pumping stations, electromechanical structures, protective and retaining works, and transmission and distribution pipe networks for raw and treated water. Prepared conceptual designs and planning frameworks for solid waste management facilities and evaluated the technical, financial, and social viability of proposed development investments to support sustainable infrastructure development in Sajek, Rangamati District.
