Description of the Project:

The project involved detailed engineering design for the construction of the Janalihut–CUET–Kaptai Dual Gauge Railway Link under Bangladesh Railway in Chattogram. The scope included route alignment design, topographic and geotechnical investigations, track geometry design, bridge and culvert engineering, station and ancillary facility planning, drainage design, and preparation of detailed construction drawings and technical specifications.

The assignment aimed to establish a modern, safe, and efficient dual-gauge railway corridor to enhance regional connectivity, improve passenger and freight transportation, and support the socio-economic development of Chattogram and the surrounding areas.

Services Provided:

The consultancy services encompassed the complete detailed engineering design and technical documentation for the construction of the Janalihut–CUET–Kaptai Dual Gauge Railway Link under Bangladesh Railway, Chattogram. The scope of services included route reconnaissance, topographic survey, geotechnical investigation, alignment optimization, and feasibility assessment to establish a safe, efficient, and sustainable railway corridor.

Detailed engineering designs were prepared for railway track geometry, embankments, cuttings, bridges, culverts, retaining structures, drainage systems, level crossings, stations, and associated railway infrastructure. The assignment also included civil, structural, electrical, signaling, telecommunications, and utility coordination designs to ensure seamless railway operations.
