Description of the Project:

The project involved the construction of two heavy-duty slipways, each having a maximum lifting capacity of 2,000 metric tons, for docking, repair, and maintenance of inland and coastal vessels. The scope of work included the installation of winches, wheel houses, slipway mechanical systems, a steel gangway jetty, RCC abutments, and driving of four spuds to ensure safe vessel handling and berthing operations. The project also comprised extensive dredging works to remove mud, clay, and sandy deposits from the riverbed, manual earth cutting and site development, and construction of all associated marine and civil infrastructure. Full-time construction supervision, quality assurance, contract administration, and monitoring services were provided throughout the implementation period to ensure compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and project requirements. Upon completion, the facility significantly enhanced vessel repair, maintenance, and operational support capacity within the river transport network.

 

Services Provided:

Provided consultancy services for project management, construction supervision, quality assurance, contract administration, and monitoring of the construction of two 2,000 MT capacity slipways and associated marine infrastructure. Services included review of contractor’s drawings and work programs, supervision of dredging operations, riverbed preparation, earthworks, installation of slipway machinery, winches, wheelhouses, steel gangway jetty, RCC abutments, and spud driving works. Conducted inspection and testing of construction materials, monitored progress, ensured compliance with technical specifications, environmental and safety requirements, verified measurements and contractor’s bills, coordinated with stakeholders, and provided technical guidance throughout project implementation to ensure timely and successful completion of the works.
